Just looking at the line of people waiting outside Chipotle stores, you know how popular burritos are in the US. Interestingly, they even start showing up in big cities in China. The ingredients, except for cheese, in a burrito are commonly used in some flour-based Chinese dishes/recipes. Like most people, my kids love burritos. The problem with burritos you could buy is they all have pretty high calories and sodium content. So, I decided to combine the elements and techniques from a burrito and some Chinese flour dishes. I chose tortillas with less sodium and additives, 93% lean ground beef, and took out the rice and other sauces. On the other hand, I seasoned the meat to a more Chinese flavor. To add flavor, I bake it to make it crunchy. It’s another simple, quick, and nutritious dish for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
